What is this class? This advanced elective studio art course is designed to allow students to learn basic techniques of the Digital Arts.
Students will use computers to learn photography skills, graphic design layouts, basic web and animation. |
How am I graded?
Each student's grade is averaged from Idea Banks, Brainstorming/ MM, Tests/Quizzes, and Projects.
- Idea Banks-Each week students will have a Sketch Weekly they work on during the first 5 minutes of each class prior to instruction. These are due Friday. Specifics on what I am looking for in each sketch will be discussed in class.
- Brainstorming-Prior to starting each project students sketch out ideas and refine work. They must show their ideas to me and discuss their plan before receiving go ahead on their project.
- Master Monday- Students are introduced to a famous artist and one of their pieces. We will describe, contemplate/compare, learn about the artist and reflect on the artwork.
- Tests and quizzes- These cover art vocabulary and techniques learned for each unit and quarter.
- Projects- These are graded using a rubric specific to each project. Students will practice techniques and objectives through simple tutorials. Students are given a specific objective for their project and will have the chance to do a self critique prior to submitting projects digitally.

How do I submit Work???
1. Save work as First Name and the Idea Bank/Unit Number. ex. Ballard IB3 OR Ballard 3
2. Complete Self Evaluation form and save in the same format.
3. Upload BOTH DOCUMENTS to Google Drive and save into the correct folder.
4. Double Check to make sure it saved.
